Sealed Construction
Yuasa VRLA battery’s unique construction and sealing technique ensure no electrolyte leakage from the case or battery terminals.
Flame Retardant
Yuasa UXL battery containers and lids are made from a flame retardant plastic material (Oxygen Index 30).
Parallel Connections
Yuasa UXL batteries have been specifically designed so that different capacities of within the UXL range can be paralleled for a common system. This greatly extends the selection of capacities that can be achieved, providing great options for configuring and expanding back-up power requirements for applications.
Electrolyte Suspension System
All UXL batteries utilise Yuasa’s unique electrolyte suspension system incorporating a micro fibre glass mat to retain the maximum amount of electrolyte in the cells. The electrolyte is retained in the separator material and there is no free electrolyte to escape from the cells.
Recombination Technology
The design of Yuasa UXL batteries incorporates the very latest oxygen recombination technology to maximise the efficiency of operation, eliminating the need for water to be added during its operational life.
Low Maintenance
Due to the perfectly sealed construction and the recombination of gases with the cell, Yuasa UXL batteries require minimal maintenance while in service.
Orientation
The combination of the sealed battery construction and Yuasa’s unique electrolyte suspension system allows operation in any orientation, with no loss of performance or leakage of electrolyte (excluding continuous use in inverted position).
Valve Regulated Design
All UXL batteries are equipped with engineered low pressure venting system. This system allows the release of excess gases within the battery which can occur under charging conditions. The system automatically reseals when the internal pressures within the battery return to specified levels.
NOTE: UXL batteries should not be charged in a fully sealed container. For further information please

Lead Calcium Grids
The heavy duty lead calcium alloy grids provide an extra margin of performance and life in both shallow cyclic and float applications, offering unparalleled recovery from deep discharge.
Service Life
The heavy duty lead calcium tin alloy grids provide excellent resistance against corrosion. The expected service life is 15 years in stationary floating applications.
Separators
The specially designed separator material provides a very efficient insulation between the negative and positive plates within the battery. This insulation prevents inter-plate short circuits and inhibits the shedding of the active material on the plates, thereby maximising the life of the battery.
Long Shelf Life
The extremely low self-discharge rate of the Yuasa UXL batteries allows these batteries to be stored for extended period of up to one year at normal ambient temperatures.
Wide Operating Temperature Range
The industrious design of the Yuasa UXL range provide for use over a broad range of temperatures, providing there is some flexibility in both system design and location.

Recyclability
All Yuasa lead acid batteries have the potential to be recycled. In most cases, better than 90% of Yuasa lead acid batteries can be recycled. For further information on Century Yuasa’s recycling program, please
